Required Skill Set / experience
• Experience designing, developing and architecting backends for large scale web-based applications.
• Experience developing server side web applications with Groovy/ Grails.
• Knowledge of Java or Python / Django an added advantage.
• Experience building server side REST/JSON/XML-RPC APIs.
• RDBMS experience: Design schemas, setup databases from scratch, write SQL queries against them. (experience with one of MySQL, PostgresSQL, SQL Server)
• Experience with caching technologies like memcached, redis.
• Experience in configuring high performing web servers.
Experience with the following technologies desirable but not necessary:
• Apache OFBiz
• Amazon Web Services (AWS)
• Configuration management technologies - puppet, chef, fabric
• Message queue technologies
Job Description / Responsibilities
Work closely with mobile app developers to build high quality, high performing web services that serve content to platform native mobile apps.
Maintain and extend existing servers written using Groovy/Grails.
Replace modules in Apache OFBiz to Groovy/Grails.
Design, build and maintain scalable, secure and high performance infrastructure using Amazon Web Services (AWS). Automated installation and deployment scripts required.
Rapidly prototype, test, review and launch different versions of servers.
Enforce code quality through test driven development and automated test suites.
Desired profile of the candidate
Fast-paced, flexible, team-oriented and ability to adapt to new technologies.
